Job Title: Education Support Specialist at HMP Buckley Hall
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Education Support Specialist to join our team at HMP Buckley Hall. As an Education Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and training of learners within the prison setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with learners on a day-to-day basis to promote the education provision on offer
- Conduct initial assessments in English, Maths, and learning difficulties/disabilities to ensure learners have the information to plan their learner journey
- Ensure prospective and existing learners receive relevant and easily understood information regarding learning and skills provision and continuing support
- Contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach that seeks to facilitate a smooth transition to the resettlement of the learner into the community
Requirements:
- Relevant experience of conducting initial assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
- Experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities
- Experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
- To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale
