Locum Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Primary Care Liaison. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, providing specialist consultative liaison to Primary Care based staff for advice and guidance.
Main DutiesThe post-holder will provide specialist consultative liaison to Primary Care based staff for advice and guidance (GPs and Primary Care Mental Health Service) for the primary care networks in the North West of Hertfordshire. The post-holder will also provide additional support to the primary and specialist care Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) regarding diagnoses, risk formulation and medications.
About the RoleThe post-holder will work closely with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services and share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management. The post-holder will also participate in service and business planning activity for the PCN and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge in psychiatry, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and the ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty. The candidate will also be able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training, participate in continuous professional development, and participate in research or service evaluation.
