Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Justice Officer to join our team at HCRG Workforce Solutions. As a key member of our service delivery team, you will play a critical role in working with children and young people who are subject to early intervention, prevention, and youth justice services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Intervention Planning: Develop, coordinate, implement, monitor, and review intervention plans with children and young people, and their families, to reduce the risk of offending, re-offending, and/or harm to themselves or the public.
  2. Case Management: Ensure clear, structured exit strategies are in place for all cases on closure to the service, and maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including electronic records, statistics, and other information.
  3. Duty Officer and Court Services: Act as duty officer, evaluating and responding to new referrals, taking appropriate action, and providing advice, information, and assistance, including undertaking the role of Appropriate Adult as defined in the Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
  4. Training and Qualifications: Possess a relevant professional or degree-level qualification (NVQ 4) associated with one of our partner agencies, and a minimum of 2/8 posts in the service must have a recognised social work qualification.
Requirements
  • Able to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and occasional Saturday and Bank Holiday court cover.
  • Hold a valid car driver's license to enable regular and frequent visits within and outside the Borough.
