Job Title: IT Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Analyst to join our team at Gregory Distribution. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and support for finance and people-related IT systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing system solutions and processes, carrying out system changes, and implementing new capabilities aligned to our business transformation plan or project portfolio.
  • Acting as the system expert, partnering with finance and people-related stakeholders to ensure they are aware of deliverables and provide the necessary support to enable you to deliver against the roadmap for each relevant system.
  • Optimizing the performance of systems and efficiency of system-driven processes to enable our people to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Managing routine system updates and defining test requirements, writing test scripts, carrying out and coordinating system testing alongside changes, updates, and implementations.
  • Working with the wider Group Technology team to ensure smooth running of systems and relevant dependent services such as integration and reporting.
  • Working closely with our PMO function and assigned Project Manager's, updating on task progress and escalating risks or dependencies where necessary.
  • Using our project and task management tool, JIRA, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and kept up to date for visibility across the team and PMO.
  • Maintaining and managing relationships with key external system providers to support either solution delivery or resolution of escalated support issues.
  • Maintaining system-related documentation, including process flows, training materials, and support content.
  • Delivering critical care following changes and new implementations and supporting service transition to BAU.

Requirements:

  • This is a hands-on technical role, so experience of configuring and administering business systems or applications deployed across a large and diverse workforce is essential.
  • High-level technical proficiency, IT aptitude, and a general interest in technology, systems, and software.
  • An ability to understand business operations and translate business requirements and opportunities into effective system solutions.
  • Critical thinking and analytical mindset to problem-solving.
  • Although not regular, occasional travel to other group sites will be required for this role, so a Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Data Management or Analysis skills – SQL or similar.
  • Proficiency with a scripting language – Powershell or similar.
  • Experience of working with systems we use (or similar) would be an advantage – e.g. MHR iTrent, Intelex, Sage X3.
