As a result of our continued growth, Gregory Distribution has a vacancy for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Cullompton. The successful candidate will work within the wider finance team, reporting to the Group Finance Director and supporting the assigned Board member and their senior management team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career and develop within the business.

This role involves frequent travel to other sites within the group.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review weekly P&L flash/forecast results and monthly management accounts to drive profitability with the business unit lead.
  • Coordinate the production of the detailed annual budget and quarterly forecast, working with operational managers to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial reports and business cases to support decision making.
  • Liaise closely with operational management and present financials at monthly meetings.
  • Develop the business partnering role to become an integral part of the Board member's management team.
  • Challenge operational management on revenue and cost to maximise profit and margin.
  • Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial people, offering professional judgement.
  • Continually refine finance and business processes to improve efficiency.
  • Promote best practice financial control and governance across the business.
  • Assist with commercial business tenders and appraise capital projects for financial viability and ROI.
  • Line manage Finance Analyst.
  • Commercialise new business solutions to maximise financial benefits.

Essential Skills:

  • Professionally qualified accountant.
  • Demonstrable experience in a commercially focused finance environment.
  • Previous experience of interacting with senior management and directors.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong numeracy skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with self-motivation and adhere to deadlines.
  • IT literate, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in the distribution and logistics industry.
  • Experience of using finance/ERP systems.
