About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mineralogy Scientist to join our team in a busy lab environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out analysis of soil and mineral samples, as well as asbestos testing.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mineralogy and experience with techniques such as gravimetric analysis, FTIR, and XRD. They will also possess excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out analysis of soil and mineral samples
  • Asbestos testing, with training provided if necessary
  • Reporting analytical results and cross-checks as required
  • Completing routine laboratory support functions as part of the wider team

Requirements:

  • Relevant scientific degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience of testing techniques such as FTIR, XRD, and gravimetric analysis
  • Background in mineralogy
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and strives for high standards in their work

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
