Lead a Multidisciplinary Team
Merco Recruitment invites applications for a senior leadership position as Head of Psychology at a reputable hospital in the UK. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, providing expert guidance and clinical supervision to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement psychology strategies to support patients with diverse diagnoses.
  2. Provide clinical leadership to the psychology department, ensuring effective teamworking and collaboration.
  3. Work closely with the Hospital Director and Medical Director to develop and implement service improvements.
  4. Hold a clinical caseload and deliver formulation-led care, using therapeutic approaches such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, and CAT.
  5. Develop and deliver training programs for staff, promoting psychological awareness and well-being.
  6. Manage clinical governance and service-related standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Experience as a Consultant Psychologist in a forensic setting, with a strong track record of leadership and clinical excellence.
  2. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and motivate a team of psychologists.
  3. Ability to work within the dynamics of a secure hospital, with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
  4. Competence in managing clinical and organisational projects, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Line management experience and consultancy skills, with the ability to provide expert guidance and clinical supervision.
  6. Expertise in therapeutic interventions, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, and CAT.
