Job Title: Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of our MEP projects in the London area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete mechanical and electrical works on site, including self-delivery and sub-contracted elements. They will review installation drawings, develop and own the second take-off and associated labour hours, and drive supervisors to deliver the complete installation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the sub-project to the client within budget, Quality Assurance standards, on programme, and to stringent safety parameters.
  • Work with the planning team to develop detailed and accurate short-term programmes of work.
  • Manage the budget and delivery of the section of the project.
  • Ensure adoption of innovative ideas from within the business and from the workforce.
  • Plan the programming of day-to-day resource requirements and communicate these to the construction team.
  • Interface with other construction managers and section managers to share best practice and ensure effective resource utilisation.
  • Monitor external changes to work plans and report the effect of change.
  • Lead section meetings to review safety, quality, progress, and design.
  • Ensure effective implementation of Laing O'Rourke project management systems and procedures.
  • Chair safety committee meetings monthly, take minutes, distribute, and carry out all actions.
