About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Cardiology Specialist to join our dynamic cardiology team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Cardiology Specialist, you will play a leading role in managing cardiology inpatients and participate in regular teaching programs, weekly meetings, and monthly audit meetings.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a supervisory role for junior grades of doctors, participating in cardiology out-patient sessions, and joining the general medical on-call rota. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in transthoracic rest and stress echocardiography training sessions with senior echocardiographers or consultants.

Person Specification

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Full GMC with licence to practise
  • Evidence of achievement of CT/ST1 competences in medicine at time of appointment & CT/ST2 competences in medicine
  • At least 24 months' experience in medicine at ST/SHO level (not including Foundation modules)
  • Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
  • Evidence of active participation in audit
