About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at NewDay Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the reconciliation of key bank and internal control accounts, processing over 1 million transactions per day via automated reconciliation tool.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily reconciliation activities, including the running of daily filters, interactive matching and escalation of aged items.
  • Ensure that monthly ledger reconciliations, adjustments and transfers are performed, being timely and accurate to minimize write-offs.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify discrepancies and highlight to key stakeholders such as operations.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are fully documented and ensure reconciliations owned are completed according to NewDay Reconciliation Policies.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and present large volumes of numerical data.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, with drive to continuously find opportunities for improvement.
  • Ambitious and a problem solver.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of SUN general ledger and ReconNet Reconciliation application.
  • Some work experience in an accounting environment.
