Carrington West is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join our team on a major highways project. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth progression of the scheme, working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Site Planning and Execution: Assist in the planning, execution, and supervision of engineering activities on site, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Surveying and Setting Out: Conduct surveys, set out works, and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with technical specifications.
- Health and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, and monitor compliance on site.
- Site Management: Manage day-to-day site activities, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Site Records: Produce accurate site records, including method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Liaise with the project management team, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress against time and budget, and proactively identify issues that may cause delays.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality control by reviewing and checking technical designs and drawings.
Requirements:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer, ideally on highways, roads, or major infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with National Highways standards and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, setting out, and surveying.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A valid CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
