We are seeking an exceptional Senior Mental Health Specialist to join our Transformation Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to older adults who require specialist outpatient services.
Main Responsibilities- You will be the Responsible Clinician for patients in your caseload within our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team.
- Provide consultative, supervisory, and supportive roles to our multidisciplinary team's work, including expert advice and interventions in a timely manner.
- Promote effective collaboration among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Our team is comprised of experienced professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care. This includes:
- Consultant Psychiatrists
- Staff Grade Doctors
- Band 7 Team Manager
- Advanced Nurse Practitioners
- Occupational Therapists
- Clinical Psychologists
- Nurses
- Support Workers
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Inclusion on or eligibility for the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry
- Section 12 (2) Approval and Approved Clinician Status
- Good standing with the GMC
- Holds a valid UK driving license and uses personal vehicle for work-related travel OR provides evidence of proposed alternative
- MbChb, MBBS, or equivalent medical qualifications
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and 3 years higher professional training in Old Age Psychiatry
- 'Train the Trainer' and 'Equality and Diversity' Training
- Excellent clinical knowledge in Old Age Psychiatry
- Strong bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Able to make informed decisions based on evidence and experience
- Ability to meet duties under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
The salary for this position is estimated at £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes comprehensive healthcare, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.
