Job Description:

We are seeking a Maritime Welfare Ambassador to join our team at the QVSR Seafarers' Centre in the Port of Tilbury. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of seafarers visiting the Port of London.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. You will be based at the QVSR Seafarers' Centre, which provides a welcoming environment for seafarers. Your role will involve facilitating contact between seafarers and their families through phone top-ups and data SIMs.

The ideal candidate will have a compassionate concern for the well-being of others and be able to relate easily to many different cultures, faiths, ages, and needs. You will also need to be able to use your own initiative and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate contact between seafarers and their families through phone top-ups and data SIMs.
  2. Provide a listening ear and offer support to seafarers.
  3. Work closely with the QVSR Seafarers' Centre team to ensure seamless delivery of services.

We estimate that this role will be approximately £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
