Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs:
Merrylands Primary School and Nursery is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and enhancing their learning experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing targeted interventions and support to students with SEN, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure that each student receives the best possible education.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide high-quality support to students with SEN, using a range of strategies to engage and motivate them
- To work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective plans to meet the needs of students with SEN
- To maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/carers
- To contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment
Person Specification:
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting students with SEN
- Good understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to assist students in developing a good standard of attainment
- Confident and able to work with students with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to continued professional development
