Job Summary

The 1590 Trust seeks a skilled School Site Operations Manager to join its successful site management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the readiness and cleanliness of the school and school grounds, managing a team of site service personnel, and carrying out various repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment tasks.

About the Role

This is a permanent position based at Conyers School in Yarm, with occasional requirements to work at other schools within the trust. The successful candidate will have strong DIY skills, be capable of independently prioritizing tasks, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety and safeguarding measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of site service personnel to ensure the effective operation of the school site.
  • Conduct regular site visits to identify areas requiring attention and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities, including repairs and refurbishments, to ensure the school premises are well-maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
  • Be responsible for key holding and opening/closing procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A proven track record of experience in site operations or a related field.
  • Strong DIY skills and the ability to carry out routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including occasional late evenings.

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be required to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to ensure the smooth operation of the school site.
