We are seeking an accomplished English Department Leader to drive academic achievement and inspire a love of literature in our students. As the Head of English, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our department and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth.

Your leadership skills will be instrumental in guiding and mentoring our dedicated team of teachers, promoting effective teaching strategies, and cultivating a deep appreciation for the power of words. You will create a vibrant learning environment that sparks students' curiosity and ignites their love for literature, while instilling in them a lifelong passion for the English language.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Lead and manage the English department, providing guidance and support to teachers.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement an exceptional and engaging English curriculum that empowers our students to become confident and articulate communicators.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiatives and promote a cohesive approach to education.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
  • Inclusive Environment: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes social responsibility.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Teaching certification and relevant teaching experience.
  • Proven experience as a Head of English or in a similar leadership role.
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
  • Passion for English education and a commitment to academic excellence.

Salary Estimate: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
