Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. As a key member of our Children and Young People's Engagement Team, you will play a vital role in supporting our work with children, young people, and parents across the UK.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of views, voices, and experiences of children, young people, and their families in relation to child health topics. This will involve reviewing engagement raw data, analyzing, coding, and theming using thematic analysis, grounded theory, or other relevant approaches.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all engagement data collection activities by the team are appropriately rigorous, ethical, and of value. Additionally, you will perform literature searches and produce reviews of the literature to support the delivery of engagement projects.

As a Research Assistant, you will work closely with the Head of Children, Young People & Engagement and support the wider engagement team in collecting and collating data for review. You will also develop a system for managing our voice data.

We are looking for a degree-qualified or equivalent experienced professional in a social or medical science, statistics, or other research discipline. You should have experience in producing and presenting high-quality written reports, documentation, and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to understand and discuss complex issues around child health and health-related statistics, are essential. An understanding of governance systems and document control, as well as experience working in direct delivery teams supporting those who work with children and young people, would be desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with those in the field of child and youth engagement, youth volunteering, and children's rights. You will gain knowledge of children's rights and what matters to children and young people within child health by actively participating in our programme of activities.

We offer a flexible and modern working policy, with a minimum of 40% office time over a 4-week cycle and the remainder from home. A full Disclosure Barring Service Check will be required for this role.
