Senior Social Worker

At South Gloucestershire Council, we are committed to providing high-quality social work services that make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families. We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Long Term Social Care team, who will work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with children and families to identify and address their needs, providing well-planned, integrated, and coordinated services.
- Develop and implement effective plans to support children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide a comprehensive service to children and families.
- Provide mentoring and support to less experienced colleagues, and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager.
- Hold complex cases, such as court cases and higher-end child protection, and provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues.
- Qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice and a good understanding of asset-based approaches to social work.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience of working in a statutory social work setting, with a focus on child protection and support.
- Ability to provide mentoring and support to less experienced colleagues, and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced DBS check is obtained for this post. You will be required to travel widely to a range of locations within the Authority, so you must have a current driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle insured for business use.
