About the Role

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled Survey Operations Engineer to join our Marine Geophysical team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the mobilization of survey and operational equipment, data acquisition and processing systems, and providing technical support to operations on our fleet of purpose-built survey vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan the mobilizations, equipment installations, and survey vessel refits or dry docks in cooperation with Project Manager, Party Chief, Technical Coordinator, Workshop Technician, Vessel Manager, Regional Teams, and our Suppliers.
  • Provide technical and operational support to survey vessels and participate in the technical support helpdesk.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory of equipment, spares, and consumables is available to support operations.
  • Oversee the preparation, maintenance, and testing of survey and operational equipment as well as systems and software for project-based work in alignment with maintenance procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with technical reviews of tenders.
  • Coordinate new product tests and subsequent evaluations.
  • Actively review working processes and instructions and seek to identify new working methods, new technology, or cost reductions to improve performance.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified, MSC/BSc/BEng level or a Professional Engineering qualification.
  • Previous offshore operational experience (geophysical, seismic, environmental, geotechnical, drilling, or similar).
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to work within a team environment to dynamic schedules and tight budgets.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, good communicator, excellent organizational skills, flexible, people-oriented, team player.
  • Good numerical, verbal, and written skills.
