About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mandarin Language Specialist to join our team at MI5. As a Language Coach for Mandarin, you will play a critical role in developing the language skills of our Language Specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide language training and support to less experienced Language Specialists
  • Develop and create training and assessment materials for Mandarin language and culture
  • Translate and transcribe materials to develop our language technology tools
  • Work collaboratively with our team to enhance our language capabilities in support of national security
Requirements
  • Minimum of good C1 Level in CEFR terms, ideally C2 level, in Mandarin language
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience of teaching, mentoring, or training in a language-based environment
  • Supportive and encouraging of others, with a genuine passion for language
  • Good eye for detail, with ability to give timely and targeted feedback
  • IT literate, with ability to work independently on language technology projects
