We are seeking a highly skilled Full-time Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team at a prominent London hospital for an initial 4-5 month period, with potential extension. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to showcase their expertise and make a meaningful contribution to the healthcare sector.
Job OverviewThis role entails providing high-quality patient care as part of a dynamic gastroenterology team, ensuring seamless delivery of services in outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists, and ward cover, including management of gastrointestinal bleed on-call duties.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in gastroenterology, holding a valid GMC license to practice and extensive NHS experience as a Consultant in this field.
Key Responsibilities- To manage and lead the gastroenterology outpatient clinic effectively, addressing patients' concerns and needs while adhering to best practices and protocols.
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive endoscopy list, prioritizing procedures and collaborating with colleagues to optimize efficiency and quality.
- To provide expert-level care on the gastroenterology ward, ensuring timely interventions for GI bleeds and other acute presentations.
- To participate in multidisciplinary teams, contributing insights and recommendations to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
- A current GMC license to practice, reflecting your commitment to upholding professional standards and ethics.
- Demonstrated experience as a Consultant in Gastroenterology within the NHS, showcasing your ability to navigate complex clinical environments.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00. The initial contract duration is 4-5 months, with potential for extension based on performance and operational requirements.
