Skanska, a leading project development and construction company, is a responsible business that contributes to building a better society.

In partnership with National Highways, Skanska is delivering the A47 road improvement project to alleviate congestion and enhance safety. We are seeking a passionate Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our infrastructure team based at our office in Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity to influence, develop, and drive environmental excellence across this major road project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support operational teams, subcontractors, and clients in identifying and implementing environmental opportunities and solutions.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and steer on environmental policy and legislation, environmental and carbon strategy, and customer requirements.
  • Lead investigations into environmental incidents, documenting facts and evidence to determine causes and develop solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the review of all Environmental Management System (EMS) documentation.
  • Conduct regular site environmental checks, inspections, and audits.
  • Manage and deliver environmental training courses, toolbox talks, and briefing sessions.
  • Manage and recruit a team of environment advisors.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Solid construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector (highways).
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel across projects/contracts in the region.
