About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic thinker to join our dynamic Corporate Affairs Team at Southern Water as a Strategic Water Resources Engagement Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of an engagement plan for high-profile water resources projects, including water recycling initiatives.
- Engage proactively and reactively with key stakeholders, including regulators, media, customers, and colleagues at various levels.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs Team to produce consistent, evidence-based messaging for stakeholders.
- Support colleagues in delivering effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Contribute to securing public acceptance for water recycling projects, leading to planning approvals.
Requirements
- Experience in journalism and/or stakeholder engagement, with a strong passion for environmental issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, driving forward work plans to achieve positive results.
- Flexibility to work out-of-hours, including evenings and weekends, with a valid driver's license and access to a car.
