Mechanical Engineering Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Consultant to join our team of experts providing innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of projects across various sectors in the UK and Internationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical design on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, representing the business in front of clients and architects, and providing mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.

About the Project:

  1. Lead the mechanical design on large-scale UK and International projects across various sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and industrial.
  2. Manage the delivery of mechanical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  3. Produce detailed mechanical designs and specifications for projects ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  4. Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate mechanical design solutions.
  5. Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  6. Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  7. Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging mechanical design technologies and practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide mechanical design expertise to clients and stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and architects.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 5 years' UK experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services industry.
  3. Ideal Chartered Engineer status.
  4. Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  5. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Competitive salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum.
