About the Role:

We're seeking a motivated and capable professional to join our team as the Programme Lead for Primary Initial Teacher Training. This is a middle leadership role where the successful candidate will work closely alongside the Assistant Head of Primary ITT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement English and Phonics curriculum content, ensuring it aligns with the DfE ITTECF Framework and provides high-quality early reading training for student teachers.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of English and Phonics content, resources, and methods to ensure they are aligned to current and future workplace needs, curriculum development, and best teaching practices.
  • Lead associate Personal Tutors in delivering half-termly training to drive consistency across the workforce and enhance the quality of ITT provision.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Team to review the quality of associate Personal Tutors' work and contribute to the development of Personal Tutors.
  • Provide regular updates and information to Personal Tutors on programme developments, module training, and assessments.
  • Support the resolution of escalated student teacher issues and collaborate with Personal Tutors and other stakeholders to address concerns.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Head of Primary ITT to manage student teacher retention and satisfaction, liaison with Personal Tutors on support plans, and collaborate with the ALS tutor on reasonable adjustments.
  • Foster a culture of respect, high aspirations, and collaboration to achieve excellent outcomes and personal job satisfaction for all.

About You:

We're looking for a qualified professional with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and/or evidence of CPD and expert knowledge in a relevant area
  • Experience in or with Initial Teacher Training
  • Understanding of the wider education landscape
  • Knowledge of ITT requirements and content frameworks
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted requirements and frameworks
  • Leadership experience and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Highly numerate and literate
