An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sustainability Manager to join Sustainable Futures Group, a leading Social Housing provider at the forefront of Sustainability and Net Zero in the UK housing sector. This role will be a blended position of both onsite and at-home working from their head office in Birmingham with the flexibility to work from other offices in the West Midlands.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability, this position offers a unique chance to embed sustainability across all aspects of the organisation's operations. Working closely with various departments to develop and implement strategies that reduce their environmental impact, enhance the sustainability of their housing stock, and support their tenants in adopting greener lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities - Sustainability Manager:

  1. Identify and implement opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of their housing stock, including retrofitting existing homes and ensuring new builds meet the highest environmental standards.
  2. Develop and manage initiatives aimed at reducing the organisation's carbon footprint, including energy use, waste management, and sustainable procurement practices.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, tenants, and external partners to promote sustainable practices and enhance community involvement in sustainability projects.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and reporting requirements, keeping up-to-date with changes in regulations and best practices.

The successful Sustainability Manager will have:

  1. Proven experience in a sustainability-focused role, preferably within the housing, construction, or public sector.
  2. A strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices in the UK.
  3. Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and initiatives.
  4. Knowledge of energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainable building practices.
  5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
