Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Northern Ireland (Remote)

Salary: £56,000 - £60,000, Benefits

Anson McCade is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join their team in creating innovative, interactive experiences at the forefront of education technology. Their cutting-edge large touchscreen displays are revolutionizing learning, collaboration, and engagement in classrooms and boardrooms worldwide.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Automation Strategies: Design and implement automation strategies to minimize errors and enhance performance, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment and testing of new code.
  • Cloud Provisioning: Provision new servers and projects in the cloud (AWS), ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Identify architectural and infrastructure issues and develop solutions involving both development and IT teams, ensuring system security, stability, and scalability.
  • Cloud Project Leadership: Lead new cloud projects to completion with the development and quality teams, ensuring system security, stability, scalability, measurability, and flexibility.
  • System Management: Manage in-house systems to enhance productivity for development and quality teams in building, deploying, and testing new code.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Manage monitoring and alerting infrastructure to resolve and prevent issues, ensuring prompt notification and resolution.
  • Production Persistence: Define and maintain production persistence infrastructure, including data backups and restores, ensuring business continuity.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4-5+ years of experience in DevOps.
  • Skills: Proficient in scripting and automation using bash, Python, etc., experience in securing production systems, including implementing access controls, auditing, and ensuring compliance.
  • Cloud Experience: Proven experience managing large-scale, highly available production environments in a cloud setting.
  • Logging and Monitoring: Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Nagios, PagerDuty, Splunk, etc.
  • Virtualization: Experience operating on virtualization platforms, both locally and in the cloud, such as VMware, GCP, Amazon Web Services.
  • CI/CD Tools: Proficiency with CI/CD tools and platforms like TeamCity, Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps.
