Position: Market Risk Analyst – Energy Commodities Trading

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Analysis: Monitor traded positions, inventory, risk, VaR/SVaR, and stress scenarios, ensuring alignment with risk policies.
  • Integrity Attestation: Validate VaR/SVaR integrity, investigate changes, and perform key back-testing controls.
  • Risk Identification: Identify and escalate Risks not in VaR (RNiV) to the relevant teams.
  • Risk Factor Maintenance: Maintain energy risk factor time series and conduct historical simulation analysis.
  • Parameter Validation: Propose and validate energy risk factor parameters for stress testing.
  • Risk Controls: Implement and review market risk controls for energy portfolios.
  • Risk Simulation: Assess key risk factors' impact using simulation tools and validate P&L for back-testing.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to market and commodity risk regulations and frameworks.
  • Regulatory Deliveries: Complete regulatory risk tasks accurately and on time.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build strong connections with Risk, Treasury, Finance, and Audit teams.
  • New Product Assessment: Challenge risk assessments for new products, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor markets to identify changes impacting energy risk profiles.
  • Performance Objectives: Achieve targets set by the Head of Market Risk

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with deep market risk knowledge.
  • Experience in energy commodities trading preferred.
  • Proficient in risk management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks collaboratively.
