In line with our commitment to equality and diversity, we are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, effective from 1 April 2024, without any change in pay. This change will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This adjustment will be reflected in the job advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you will be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the delivery of patient care within a 24-bedded step-down ward.
  • Have managerial responsibility for these 24-bedded wards in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse, including supervision and deployment of staff.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, be responsible for assessment of care needs, evaluation of care plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
  • Maintain both clinical and staff governance.
  • Have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before beginning in post.
