An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Defuel Project Engineer to join our team at HM Naval base in Devonport. As the Defuel Project Engineer, you will be accountable to the MOD PWR Defuel Project Manager for assisting in project management related aspects of the PWR Defuel Execution Project and the wider PWR Defuel Programme.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the delivery of the Design Authority's Requirement for pre-defuel project engineering activities, irradiated fuel removal, fuel handling and post defuel engineering activities.
  • Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings.
  • Provide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectation.
  • Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications.
  • Set reliability targets based on historical data and monitor performance against targets.
  • Predict future safety and reliability performance based on failure rates.
Requirements:
  • Nuclear experience.
  • Familiarity of the in-service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience).
