About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Student Support Assistant to join our team at Tempest Resourcing Limited. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require both academic guidance and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students dealing with emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans to meet each student's needs.
  • Employ effective behaviour management techniques to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Foster trusting relationships with students to encourage open communication and engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Develop and facilitate therapeutic activities that promote emotional well-being and resilience.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or abuse.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • A deep understanding of mental health needs and a commitment to supporting vulnerable students.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in mental health support or education are desirable but not essential.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.
