Job Summary

Aston Martin F1 Team is seeking a skilled IT Director to lead our IT department and drive innovation in support of operational excellence. As a senior IT management professional, you will be responsible for defining and executing the IT strategy, overseeing the management of IT infrastructure, and ensuring the effective delivery of IT services.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the company's broader operational objectives.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and drive innovation in support of operational excellence.
  • IT Service Delivery
    • Oversee the delivery of best-in-class IT services across the organisation, focusing on efficiency, stability, and reliability.
    • Proactively seek opportunities to introduce new capabilities and improve existing services.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a high-performing IT team, mentoring and empowering team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Manage performance and development through the Company's appraisal process.
  • Project Management
    • Effectively manage project assignments, ensuring that IT projects align with the department's strategy.
    • Delegate responsibility to team leaders to maximise efficiency and throughput of performance.
  • Communication and Governance
    • Define and implement effective communication channels across the function, encouraging active input and engagement from all team members.
    • Facilitate efficient and effective communication with the wider business, and across various levels, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior IT management role (IT Director or similar managerial role) with strong technical proficiency across core areas.
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; Advanced degrees such as MSc/MA preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and cloud technologies, with a background in designing/developing, implementing, and managing IT solutions.
  • Budgeting and business acumen: Experience managing IT budgets, with a strong understanding of cost control, return on investment (ROI), and how IT can drive business performance.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities at all levels, both internally and externally, with the capability to engage at all organisational levels.
