Cumbria Constabulary Kennel Hand - Zero Hours

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kennel Hand to join our team at Cumbria Constabulary. As a Kennel Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting the Dog Section by providing care and welfare for our canine colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise and groom trained dogs and puppies
  • Care for the cleanliness and hygiene of the kennel complex
  • Maintain accurate records of dog feed and supplies
  • Transport dogs to and from veterinary appointments
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience handling dogs in a work or field capacity
  • Sound understanding of animal welfare and safety protocols
  • Ability to assess and respond to hazardous situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working in kennels or animal care
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation
  • First Aid and Manual Handling training
