Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support young learners in various SEN school settings. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing personalized support for students with additional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to SEN students, assisting them in comprehending lessons and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Monitor student progress and report to the class teacher, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work with a team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans for students with complex needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of behavioral management techniques to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with SEN learners is essential.
  • A clean and relevant DBS is required (can be obtained through GSL Education if needed).
  • Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in primary schools is preferred.
  • Safeguarding certificate.
  • Good knowledge of different forms of SEN.
  • Degree in Psychology is highly valued.
