Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £43,900 + £4,800 shift allowance
Shifts: Rotating earlies & lates (6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm)
Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Haverhill. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.
You will be responsible for conducting both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, including working with PLCs, pumps, valves, and pipework on Capital Machinery within Biotech and Pharma environments.
This role will involve regular working both at heights and in confined spaces. While formal training or qualifications in these disciplines are not required, experience of both is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner.
- Working with PLCs to diagnose and resolve control system issues.
- Regular planned and preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, pipework, gears, PLC's, Control Systems, and various moving parts of machinery.
- Collaborating with the production team to address maintenance-related challenges and optimize equipment performance.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, with expertise in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with PLCs and control systems.
- GMP experience from a Pharma or Biotech background.
- Inspecting equipment to identify potential issues and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Working at heights and in confined spaces while repairing and maintaining machines.
- Collaborating with colleagues to address maintenance challenges and optimize equipment performance.
- Recording maintenance activities and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
