About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Signalling Design Manager to join our team at AECOM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in signalling design and experience managing large-scale signalling projects.

The successful candidate will lead the production of deliverables for signalling and associated projects, provide expertise in reviewing and delivering signalling projects, mentor junior members of the signalling discipline, ensure quality by maintaining knowledge of current practices, processes, standards, and emerging technologies, share knowledge of multiple interlocking types and railway systems, and collaborate with the team to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement signalling design strategies and plans
  • Lead signalling design teams and manage project deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards and regulations

Requirements:

  • 110E Engineering Manager (Design) or 7.220E Senior Engineering Manager (Design) licence, and/or registered with professional engineering institution (IRSE, IET etc.)
  • Experience of acting as Signalling Design CRE
  • Experience of delivering signalling design as part of multi-disciplinary rail systems projects
  • Commitment to professional development and retaining the highest standard of signalling design technical skills
  • The ability to work in a number of differing consultancy environments and situations across the project lifecycle
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with all project team members
  • Understanding and experience of working within project budgets whilst maintaining the delivery of high-quality outputs
  • Commitment to delivery to internal and external clients, with the view towards timeliness, reliability, safety, and accuracy of completed tasks
  • Excellent knowledge of signalling systems of all generations

Salary Estimate: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
