About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic and friendly psychology team at Mersey Care NHS Trust. As a Band 7/8a Practitioner Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality psychological services to our service users, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver effective care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake specialist assessment, formulation, care planning, and interventions with a wide range of service user groups, including those with complex needs and presenting problems.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to junior staff and other disciplines, promoting a culture of continuous professional development and excellence.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring best practice and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to deliver comprehensive care and support, including teaching and training initiatives.
Person Specification
  • Doctoral level training in a professional area of psychology, with HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more specialized areas of psychological practice, with experience in working with diverse service user groups.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including assessment, formulation, and intervention, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, service users, and their families.
  • Ability to work independently, with a high degree of autonomy, while utilizing clinical supervision systems to maintain safe and effective practice.
