Assembly Technician - Manufacturing Lead:

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician - Manufacturing Lead to join our team at Optamor in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading the assembly and testing of vehicles to strict specifications and procedures.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Vehicle Assembly Technician, Armoured Vehicle Technician / Aircraft Assembly Technician, Mechanical Fitter or similar role. They will be able to lead a team of technicians and oversee the completion of set-ups and quality and performance testing with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will also have excellent hand tool and measuring equipment skills, as well as strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the assembly and testing of vehicles to meet customer requirements
  • Oversee the completion of set-ups and perform quality and performance testing
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment to achieve high accuracy
  • Liaise with test support, engineering and Quality functions
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

What We Offer:
A competitive estimated salary of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. This exciting opportunity also benefits from a 4-day working week (Monday - Thursday) and is based from our state-of-the-art facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
