Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment is working with a global charity to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel for the organisation. The successful candidate will be joining a busy in-house legal team, supporting both the UK Charity and its trading subsidiary, and international offices in South America, North America & Asia.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice to the organisation, leading on devising, drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, including commercial contracts, supplier terms, collaboration agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
  • Identify, analyse and advise on a broad range of legal, compliance and regulatory issues, including contractual matters, charity law compliance, data protection and privacy, employment, anti-bribery and corruption, commercial contracts, intellectual property licensing, brand management and protection, and competition law.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve operational working practices and systems, working closely with the General Counsel and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with external developments relevant to the organisation and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge within the group.

Your Profile:

  • Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent (including by way of transfer).
  • This role may suit a candidate with 4+ years PQE.
  • Ideally, you will have in-house legal experience.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience is essential, including confidence in drafting, advising on, and negotiating complex contracts, including intellectual property and licensing.
