Clinical Fellow in Retrieval Medicine with London Access

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Fellow to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Clinical Fellow in Retrieval Medicine, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient transfer of critically unwell patients across hospitals.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in anaesthetics or intensive care medicine, with experience in inter-hospital transfers and a good understanding of research and its application in critical care. You will be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team, under pressure, and adapt to changing clinical environments.
As a Clinical Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the development of the Adult Critical Care Emergency Support Service (ACCESS) Fellowship. You will be part of a team dedicated to providing highly specialised cardiac, trauma, neurosurgical, and burns care, and will have the chance to work with other trusts to consider 50/50 job share opportunities within their Intensive Care Units.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, with a primary FRCA/MRCP or equivalent, and completed stage 1 training in anaesthetics/ICM. You will also have completed a transfer course and have clinical experience of inter-hospital transfers, as well as ALS or equivalent.

- Champion the safe and efficient transfer of critically unwell patients across hospitals
- Contribute to the development of the Adult Critical Care Emergency Support Service (ACCESS) Fellowship
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, under pressure, and adapt to changing clinical environments
- Participate in research and development, with a focus on critical care and retrieval medicine
Person Specification:
- Essential:
- GMC Registration
- Primary FRCA/MRCP or equivalent
- Completed stage 1 training in anaesthetics/ICM
- Completed a transfer course and had clinical experience of inter-hospital transfers
- ALS or equivalent
- Desirable:
- Full FRCA / FICM
- Experience in cardiothoracic critical care
- APLS/EPLS (instructor status)
- FICE/FUSIC
- ATLS or equivalent (instructor status ideal)
- PHEC/MIMMS/MIMMS
- Diploma in Retrieval and Transfer Medicine
- Diploma in Immediate Medical care
