Academic Lecturer in Sports Coaching and Physical Education

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic teaching team in the Sport, Coaching and PE programme area at Plymouth Marjon University. As an Academic Lecturer in Sports Coaching and Physical Education, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, inspiring them to become the next generation of PE teachers and sport coaches.
The successful candidate will possess industry-relevant experience and qualifications, including Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), to guide students through applied practice, professional placements, and applied research projects. You will also have an excellent understanding of research-informed practice to ensure teaching remains consistent with sector expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students on our Sport Coaching and Physical Education degree and BA Physical Education programme.
- Develop and maintain a professional network of sports and teaching professionals to support learning enhancement and employability.
- Devising, developing, and delivering a diverse range of teaching, learning, and assessment activities aligned to the teaching and sports coaching professions, and real-world applied sports practice.
- Support students' professional development and contribute to the development of the Sport, Coaching and PE programme area.
- Work closely with academic and professional colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
