About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging individual to join our team as a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of people affected by dementia, providing a supportive environment for them to enjoy music and socialize with others.

As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping people with dementia feel at ease, encouraging participation in singing sessions, and supporting the session facilitator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and support people with dementia, creating a welcoming atmosphere
  • Encourage participants to engage in singing activities, fostering a sense of community
  • Support the session facilitator, ensuring the smooth delivery of the program

Requirements:

  • A willingness to work with people with dementia, understanding their needs and challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with participants
  • Ability to navigate online platforms, including Zoom, if participating in virtual sessions

Salary: £12 per hour (pro-rata), estimated £6,048 - £8,328 per annum based on 12 hours per week
