At MSF UK, we are seeking a skilled Cultural Liaison Specialist to facilitate communication between our patients and staff.

This role is critical in removing linguistic and cultural barriers, enabling patients to access quality healthcare services, including mental health support.

As a Cultural Liaison Specialist, you will bridge the gap between our patients and healthcare staff, ensuring that each individual receives the care they need.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in interpretation and/or intercultural mediation, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a relationship of trust between patients and staff
  • Translating medical information into patients' mother tongues
  • Helping staff understand patients' cultural backgrounds
  • Guaranteeing confidentiality, impartiality, and neutrality
  • Actively participating in health and social assistance activities

Desirable qualifications include experience in migration or related projects, work with other NGOs or civil society organisations, and training or diploma in cultural interpretation or mediation.
