About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst/Portfolio Analyst to join our team at USS Investment Management Limited. As a key member of our Operations team, you will play a critical role in defining the scope of projects, analyzing requirements, and specifying operational and technical change across USSIM.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing business analysis across various projects and business as usual initiatives, with involvement in activities throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes process definition, system requirements, testing, and implementation.

You will coordinate input from relevant business areas, liaising with technology change teams where appropriate, to define and document proposed solutions for presentation back to business stakeholders for review and sign-off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the scope of projects, agreeing high-level aims with stakeholders
  • Define detailed business and systems requirements in conjunction with users and developers
  • Prepare a range of documents and project artefacts as required to suit the task at hand
  • Assess implementation options, influencing stakeholders to select the most appropriate solution
  • Highlight the implications of each solution, not only in terms of project delivery but also business value and ongoing support or effort levels
  • Document the current state, proposed outcome, and target operating model
  • Plan, prepare, participate in, and oversee testing, transition, and implementation
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced business analyst with a strong background in financial services, asset management, and pensions sector experience. You will have extensive prior business analysis experience, technical familiarity, and experience writing systems documentation.

You will also have a strong understanding of data models, data dictionaries, and data flows, as well as experience in both Agile and traditional Ways of Working. Knowledge of Proxy Voting data and processes is desirable, as is experience of mapping processes, both current and target, with the ability to summarize key elements succinctly for articulation to senior management.
