Company Overview:

The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Full-Time Associate Professor in Social Demography, with a Tutorial Fellowship in Human Sciences at St John's College. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of world-class researchers and teachers in the Department of Sociology.

Salary: Estimated salary for this position is around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct high-quality research in social demography and related areas;
  • Taught undergraduate and graduate students in seminar and tutorial settings;
  • Supervise research students working in demography, life course analysis, sociology, and quantitative methods within the Sociology Department.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong research background in social demography, with internationally excellent publications;
  • Excellent teaching skills, with the ability to relate well to students in seminar and tutorial settings;
  • The ability to supervise research students and teach undergraduate students.

Benefits:

An additional allowance, currently £3,155 per annum, would be payable if an individual met the criteria to be awarded the full Professor title.
