Mortgage Underwriter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at D&R Recruitment Limited. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating mortgage applications and ensuring that they meet our company's underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter and update borrower data in our lending platform.
  • Ensure all aspects of the loans are recorded accurately and meet underwriting criteria.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of mortgage applications to ensure compliance with our underwriting guidelines.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to brokers.
  • Proactively communicate with brokers to obtain outstanding requirements.
  • Ensure all underwriting is in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a pipeline of cases from inception to completion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with 3rd party suppliers, including brokers and solicitors.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Pass internal competency tests post-induction.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of FCA regulations.
  • Experience in underwriting 1st charge, 2nd charge, and BTL mortgage applications.
