Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our organization, identifying and mitigating risks, and implementing effective measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety strategy to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and departments to ensure effective communication and implementation of health and safety policies.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry experts.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in managing complex incidents and investigations.
- Training in SEIPS/Human Factors and clinical qualification.
- Operational experience in the NHS, with a minimum of 3 years working in a senior clinical role.
- Knowledge of PSIRF and corporate and clinical governance at an operational level.
- Experience investigating serious incidents and working in complex change environments.
- Project Management qualification and Quality Improvement training to fundamentals level.
- Experience working across multiple organizations and with patients and service users.
- Excellent report writing skills and knowledge of PSIRF.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and presenting to large groups.
