About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Physical Health Psychology Service, based in the Black Country region. This exciting opportunity will allow you to develop your career and contribute to delivering high-quality psychological care to clients with complex mental health needs.
Job Responsibilities
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be accountable for providing highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions to clients with complex conditions. Your expertise will involve developing and implementing plans for psychological therapy and/or management of clients' mental health conditions. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding client harm, abuse, or neglect, as well as safeguarding children who may be at risk.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will have existing or recent extensive experience of working in Cancer Services, either in a training or qualified post. Key duties will include:
- Providing highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention services to clients with complex mental health needs;
- Recognising potential signs of client harm, abuse, or neglect and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client;
- Undertaking risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and providing specialist advice to other professionals;
- Formulating plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients' mental health conditions;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS;
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice;
- HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status;
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees;
- Evidence of continuing professional development;
