Workshop Manager

As the key interface between the workshop and the Service advisors, the Workshop Controller plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and contributing to the success of the operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workshop management, leadership, and technical knowledge, with experience in planning, controlling, and delivering overall workshop performance.
Responsibilities
• Manage and develop the workshop team to ensure optimum productivity and performance.
• Plan and manage job time, task allocation, and resource utilization to meet customer deadlines and expectations.
• Monitor repair status, identify potential issues, and liaise with advisors to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to pre-authorised prices, manage WIP, and ensure system sign-off within compliance requirements.
• Plan and manage staff holidays and absence to minimize disruption to the business.
• Collaborate with the Parts Department to ensure correct parts and quantities are ordered and available.
Key Skills and Experience
• Strong leadership and management skills with experience in workshop management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers and colleagues.
• Technical knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance with experience in planning and controlling workshop operations.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and deliver solutions that benefit the customer and the business.
• Ability to maintain high-quality service standards and embed a right-first-time culture.
