Design Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our team at Graham Construction in Belfast. As a Design Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Design Manager in managing and coordinating the design process throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of design and construction, within company protocols and compliant with ISO
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including control documents, approvals, reports, and meeting minutes
  • Address and resolve any design-related issues that arise during the design and construction process
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, contractual, and industry standards
  • Coordinate design activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients and contractors, facilitating clear and effective communication
  • Provide input into programmes where required, including tender, design, construction, and Variation/Compensation Event programmes
  • Evaluate design proposals, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and standards
Requirements:
  • A BSc in a Construction-related field would be nice, but not a necessity
  • Experience in a similar position with a main contractor
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in management software, Viewpoint knowledge would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
